Testosterone, libido and vitality after 50

Testosterone levels in men tend to fall gradually from middle age, and extra weight, poor sleep, some medications and long-term illness can push them lower. Only some men develop low testosterone with symptoms such as low sex drive, fatigue or loss of muscle. The Endocrine Society advises that the diagnosis rest on both consistent symptoms and low results on at least two morning blood tests, because levels move through the day.

Sexual health is part of the same picture. Lower libido and erection problems become more common after 50, and erection problems can be an early signal of heart, blood vessel or blood sugar trouble, which is one reason they deserve a conversation with your doctor rather than a quick fix bought online.

This hub gathers every Stark Verve article on testosterone, libido, erections and male vitality: what normal levels look like at each age, how the blood tests work, what therapy involves and its risks, how sleep, weight, alcohol and exercise affect hormones, and what the evidence says about popular ingredients such as zinc, tongkat ali and horny goat weed. Each article cites its sources.
