Prostate and urinary health after 50

The prostate is a gland about the size of a walnut that sits just below the bladder and wraps around the urethra, the tube that carries urine out of the body. In many men it grows slowly from midlife on, which is why changes such as a weaker stream, more trips to the bathroom at night or the feeling that the bladder has not fully emptied become common after 50. These changes are often linked to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), an enlarged prostate that is not cancer. Similar symptoms can also come from prostatitis, an infection, a medication or the bladder itself, so they are worth a visit to your doctor rather than a guess.

This page gathers every Stark Verve article on the prostate and urinary health in one place. You will find plain-English explanations of how the gland works and changes, what common symptoms can mean, how PSA tests, exams and scans are done, what the standard treatment options involve, and what the research says about foods, habits and popular supplement ingredients. Each article links to its sources. None of it replaces an exam: blood in the urine, fever with urinary pain or being unable to pass urine call for prompt medical care.
